Our New Arrival

Avery decided not to pull any tricky stuff like her big sister and waited patiently for her induction date. It was nice to be able to plan things out (especially as far as babysitters for Macey) but there were times when the waiting game was pretty stressful too. We woke up on Monday morning and Jolynn came to stay with Macey so we could be to the hospital by 7:30. Things went well with the induction, they broke my water at 7:45, started the Pitocin at 8:45 and I got my epidural around 11:45. My epidural was much different this time, with Macey I didn't feel any pain but I could still move my legs and feel when I needed to push. This time my legs were goners! They kept flopping all around because I had no control over them and until she was almost out I couldn't even tell when I was supposed to push! It was really weird but I will take that over pain any day :-) Once Avery decided she was ready to come she didn't waste any time, I had only pushed a few times with the nurse and Avery almost beet the doctor into the room! We had to wait for him through a few contractions and I thought she might slip right out, once he got in the room I only pushed once and she made her full appearance! One of the first things we noticed was how big she was, two whole pounds more than Macey had been! Although we think they lot a ton alike, she was different from Macey in another way too...Avery is a GREAT eater! I was really dreading the breastfeeding after having such a horrible time with Macey but so far things are going awesome. I thought that people were lying when they said breastfeeding was easy, now I know at least some of them were telling the truth :-)

One last "before" shot

Avery was lucky enough to have 3 of her 5 Grandma's at her first birthday party :-)

The "after" shot! We couldn't believe how big she was!

All spruced up after her bath

The homecoming outfit

So long hospital! By the way, she did have socks but they kept falling off.

Finally! I've been dying to see pictures. She's so cute. And she does look big and has so much hair. I love the sisters picture. I'm so happy for you that she's eating well. What a relief. Yeah!

She is such a beautiful baby Liz! I am so jealous that you had such an easy delivery. I can only hope that my next one will be better than the first. I love the "sisters" picture. Looks like Macey is adjusting well to being the big sister.

Congratulations! She is so cute! I love the hair and the "little sister" onesie. We bought one exactly like that to give to Kenlee and Mollee to tell them that we were having a little sister! So fun!
