Well, as predicted I didn't read as many books this year as last year (this years total was 48). I guess a new baby can do that to you! I also felt like I didn't read as many GREAT books this year. Some of that may be because alot of the books I read for my book clubs were ones I had read before. I also found that this year I started quite a few books that I didn't finish. Some of those were because of language or other content I wasn't comfortable with but others just didn't catch my interest. Maybe in the midst of sleep deprivation my interest was harder to catch :-) Anyhow, here are my top picks of 2010 (in no particular order):- Room
- The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag
- Half Broke Horses
- Juliet
- The Silence of God
- The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott
- The Invention of Hugo Cabret
- The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks
If you have any good picks, be sure to send them my way!

Wow, Liz, that's a load of books. I was just curioius, do you get all your books from the library, or do you buy them, or borrow them?
Lizzy! That is awesome! I too love to read and should keep a list of all I do! It would be fun to look back on. I have not read one of those books, but I wrote them all down & will have to look them up at the library! Right now I am on a Shannon Hale kick. I read Goose Girl in 3 days. My poor kids! I just started Book of a Thousand Days and can't put it down! Thanks for all the great recomendations!
Allie-I love shannon hale, have you read Princess Academy? I think it is one of her best! Liz-I mostly do the library, I have gotten quite savvy with the hold system so I always have a new book to read :)
I'm so glad you liked The Invention of Hugo Cabret! That was among my favorites too! I'm writing down the others. I'm joining a book club and have to come prepared with recommendations. :)
I'm amazed that you read so many books and I didn't know any of the ones on your favorites list either. I'm excited for book club nominations to hear about them.
you amaze me - I am still trying to get through mockingjay (reading it with Mike is taking longer then I would like!) I need to get a list from you!
