Last January I decided to keep a list of the books I read all year and as I was looking at my list of 2009 I was surprised to see that I read 60 books lat year! That is probably one reason my house is never very clean :-) I have loved being in book clubs the last couple of years because I always used to struggle with finding what to read (and I fell back on the old BSC books much to often-it is much less now!). I liked most of the books that I read in 2009 (a complete list is on the sidebar of my blog) but I came up with my top picks of 2009-in no particular order:- The Glass Castle
- Hunger Games (and the sequel Catching Fire)
- The Wednesday Wars
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
- The Persian Pickle Club
- The Giver
- The Twenty One Balloons
- The Book Thief
- The Space Between Us
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- The Great Gatsby
I am sure my book list will drop considerably this year with the new baby coming in May but I am still looking forward to a great year of reading!

Great list - I haven't read several of them, but I love the Guernsey... (I am hosting it this month for my book club.) I also like 21 Balloons, The Giver and A Tree Grows. Keep posting your favorites. I am always looking for good books. (I've been struggling to find them lately.)
How did you find time to read 60 books??? Seriously??? I'm jealous! But I'm also glad you keep posting the books you're reading, based on your recommendations, I've read a couple too. :)
I am on a waiting list at the library for Hunger Games and I can't wait to get it and read it. I've heard great things. I didn't even realize there was a sequel! Thanks for the info!
