Roughing It
Last weekend we attended our ward camp-out at the Willow's in Lehi. It was our first time camping with Macey and things were, well, a little rough. After dinner Dan got a really bad sprained ankle playing ultimate frisbee (but he did make the point!). Luckily his ankle is starting to feel better now, maybe it was a result of the super cold ice bucket he had to put his foot in :-) Macey had alot of fun about 80% of the time! She loved running around with the kids and getting in and out of the tent. Getting to sleep was not quite so great, she threw a tantrum that involved throwing a sippy cup at my face (it was dark so I don't think it was intentional)! So I had a bit of a fat lip to go along with Dan's swollen ankle. Even though we had a few hang-ups I think that camping is something that we will have fun doing as a family in the future. And thanks to our ward activities committee for planning such a fun camp-out!

You are so sweet to think the throwing of the sippy wasn't intentional... if it was my nearly 2-year-old I would assume it was intentionally. hehe.
Liz,
I'm glad that you survived your first camping trip with Macey. I always get nervous when we have gone camping with Raegan.I just have to remember that it will be a good memory for her...hopefully that she'll remember as good.
Her 2 year old pictures turned out so dang cute! She is looking like quite the young lady already. Watch out boys!!!
Raegan has a zoo pass as well. We should take them sometime. Let me know when a good time for you would be. I heard the animals are more active in the early morning hours.
The sad part is, I probably have the same attitude as Macey about sleeping in a tent...me and camping, we don't get along.
Camping with little ones can always be a little tricky. I like to bring a little bit of benadryl, just in case we get desperate!
Luv ya!
