Dinosaurland!!

We took a fun family vacation to Vernal aka Dinosaurland in June.  It was a great trip, lots of fun things to do (and even some educational stuff snuck in!) but really low key and low stress.  We all had a good time, I sure love our little family of four!
Our first fun stop of the trip was the Alpine Slides!  Since our drive took us up Parley's we thought it would be a great way to kick off the vacation.  The girls both loves the slide, although Macey was a bit more daring with her speed than Avery :)

Once we got settled in at the hotel one of the first things the girls wanted to do was go swimming!  We spent quite a bit of time at the pool and when we were on our way home Macey said the swimming was her favorite part!

The next day we headed to Dinosaur National Monument.  I had to stop and get our pictures at the sign...I am sure I have a twinner picture of me when I was about Macey's age!

The girls had fun at the Quarry looking and the bones and dinosaurs!  And of course they had to have a stuffed animal from the gift shop...we aren't quite sure why Macey wanted a raccoon but we couldn't talk her out of it!

After we left the quarry we drove around the park and saw some pictographs.  We also got to explore a really neat pioneer cabin.
After lunch we hit the dinosaur museum in town...and then of course, more swimming!

What sweethearts!
The next day we took a beautiful drive up toward Flaming Gorge to the Red Canyon Lodge.  The girls got to ride a horse!  Macey was a little nervous so Avery went first and loved it!  And after Macey had been on the horse for a few minutes she loved it too!

After a yummy lunch at the lodge we rented a rowboat and had a fun trip around the lake...well we had a fun trip out and then a lot of hard work against the wind brought us back!  Good thing we had our super rowing Dad with us :)
I love Avery's face in this picture, she looks very unsure.  It might be because she almost fell in when we got in the boat!

After we got back to Vernal we checked out the Temple grounds where the girls did some serious posing!  We also went to the DUP museum earlier that morning.

The next morning we packed up, went for one last swim, and then hit the road.  The girls did pretty well in the car although Avery has to endure a traumatizing side of the rode bathroom break!  It is funny that with all of Macey's bathroom hang-ups the time she had to use the "natural bathroom" she loved it and Avery was just the opposite!
What a fun little trip!  I love spending time as a family!!
