It's a Jungle Out There!

I don't know if these pictures do justice to the insanity that is my vegetable garden! Put it together with the vines growing on the fence and it does make our backyard seem a little jungle-ish! When this beauty of a garden started out I planted two cherry tomato plants, a cucumber, and zucchini and a cantaloupe (Macey's choice). Because of the weirdness of the season, and my non-green thumb, only the tomatoes and zucchini survived...but they survived in a really BIG way! Some of it is probably explained by the awesome topsoil we put in the garden that was leftover from our side yard leveling. I guess the rest was just good luck because they are producing like crazy! The funny thing is...I don't even like tomatoes :) I wanted to plant something I would have success with since this is our first gardening attempt and the rest of my family love them. The girls like to go out with me and eat them as we pick :)

Way too much rain this year + your awesome green thumb = an amazing harvest! Way to go!

How fun! My goal is to have a garden again someday! But no tomatos for us either!

I'm so jealous of your garden! Our tomatoes were just ripening the week we moved. Tom was tempted to plow them down with the lawn mower. I'm glad your garden turned out well. They're fun to watch grow!
