Let the Holidays Begin!

The start of the Christmas season always brings so much fun and craziness to our house!  This year it also brought a lot of snow!  The girls loved it and had fun playing outside.

Avery's preschool does a cute project everyday, unfortunately we ran out of space and needed some room for our quickly arriving Christmas cards so I wanted to remember all of her masterpieces :)

One of our first Christmas activities was going to the Festival of Tree's.  The girls loved looking at the tree's for the first 5 or 6 rows and then they were anxious to get to the games!  The girls played a fishing game, Avery got a tattoo and Macey waited patiently in a long line to talk on the phone to a North Pole Elf.  His name was Patrick and she told him she wanted a new microphone for Christmas.  Since she already has a great microphone, that was just out of batteries, Patrick passed the message on to Cat Elf who fixed the microphone up that night!
We got a sweet early Christmas present on December 7th; Hollis Rae was born!  Congratulations to Presley and Garett!!

Also in November...

  • We celebrated Thanksgiving with our wonderful families!  We were stuffed after our double dinner :)
  • The week before Thanksgiving our house got hit hard with the stomach flu...yuck!  One of us was sick each day for four days, and my mom got it too.  Hopefully that means we have fulfilled our sick quota for awhile!
  • We celebrated some Miles family birthdays including Cash's 1st, or as my girls now refer to him, Mr. Money!  We also found out a little while ago that Cash will become a big brother next summer!  Hooray :)
  • We had a lot of living room dance parties!  Some of the girls current fav's are: What Does the Fox Say?, Moves Like Jager, the Macarena, Who Let the Dogs Out? and Gangnam Style.
  • I gave blood for the first time!  I have wanted to donate for awhile but I was always a little nervous.  Dan donates fairly regularly so he made us both appointments and it wasn't even scary :)
  • We booked an upcoming Disneyland trip!!!  We will be going with my Mom and Dad and I am already driving Dan crazy with my excitement and OCD trip planning!

Smart Phone!

It often seems like I was one of the last people I know not to have a smart phone.  Well, after accidentally dropping my phone in my neighbors garden to get an overnight sprinkler bath and a partially successful rice cleansing, my old phone was kaput!  So I have now stepped into the next generation :)  Here are some random shots from my phone.  Most of them are of Avery being silly and sleeping in an Ikea bed.  I also took some at Willow Canyon's Fun Run and another bike and scooter wash, complete with helmets!

Family Pictures

My awesome, and talented, friend Nikki took some family pictures for us in November.  I felt like a bit of a newbie since these are the first pictures we have taken of all of us that wren't arranged by one of our extended families.  Although coordinating clothing for just the four of us was a lot easier than a huge group!  We didn't get very lucky weather wise and you can see snow in a lot of the shots but the girls were troupers and the pictures don't show their shivers :)  We warmed up afterwards with hot chocolate, pie and french fries (all staples of a good diet!).

Princesses & Projects

This is Halloween, Boo!

This Halloween brought Princess Peach and Batman to our house!  If we would call Avery bat girl, she would quickly correct us and tell us that she was Bat Man!    Both girls got a lot of use out of their costumes with a ward Trunk or Treat and parties at school and dance.  Macey had a costume parade at school and I got to help with her class party.  I thought it was funny that Mrs. Mart was dressed as a clown, because that is what she dressed as when I was in first grade too!
Avery's class put on a cute program with Halloween songs after their party.  I think Ave's favorite was the mean old witch song!

Time to get this show on the road...Trick or Treat!!!

Jack O Lanterns

We carved, and painted, some pretty impressive pumpkins this year!  We had one incident of Avery accidentally flinging pumpkin guts across the kitchen but it was a good night!
